I invite you to read, explore and help creating a space of empathy.

EMPAG stands for “EMPAthy Group” or for “EMPathic Anonymous Group”.*

The primary goal of an Empag meeting is to learn, practice and enjoy giving and receiving empathy. If this is not one of your goals, don’t go there. If this is one of your goals you are welcome to participate or come to visit any open Empag meeting.

There is no other obligation for Empag meeting members.

Empag is self supporting, if you come regularly you are asked to support with an optional donation to keep the organizational financial cost covered. The suggested donation is $3-$5/€3-€5 per meeting. Visitors are not asked at their first 6 meetings or until they decided for themselves to regularly join an Empag meeting.

Donations from outside are not accepted, in order to stay independent. All Empag members agree to keep Empag free and independent of any professional attempts.

Any 2 people can start an Empag group if they adhere to the above mentioned principles.

Why two different meanings for one acronym? This is part of the concept, because whenever we define something as close as possible, we will lose something within it. Especially when it comes to dealing with humans, describing what they are will never be accurate. There are always several levels of consciousness, which is a beautiful world of complexity, often leaving us puzzled but never bored if we try to see what’s alive in us and what’s alive in the other person and how to make life more wonderful.
